While working on my latest full tutorial, I stumbled upon a tiny two-bar snippet with a few cool-sounding chords. In today’s Make it Up on a Monday (#6), we’ll transform that tiny little idea into a full three-chorus fusion tune that starts out easy and spacious, but increases the intensity for each chorus until the last one is a full-on wall-blistering frother.

Once we get past the full tune, I spend the next 35 minutes or so going through the theory behind the chord progression including why dominant seventh chords “want” to resove, and how handy two-five-one progressions can be when you’re changing keys.
