Funk Groove 4: Last two parts done and available

That took forever! But I think I’m getting faster with practice.

You can now get all seven parts of the tutorial for Piano Funk Groove 4. Just scroll down…. and down…. and down…. they’re at the bottom of the page. I really need to spend a little time cleaning up that page so it’s a little easier to deal with, plus I have a couple more surprises coming up before calling this little groove completely wrapped.

Next up for full production: The often-requested full tutorial for Funk Groove 3 in F. Here’s the rough draft, if you haven’t heard it yet. I have added additional music, and have gotten many questions along the way (“How do I reach that freaking 11th span in the beginning?!“) which I plan to answer in the videos.

If you have any questions about Funk Groove In F (now called #3), add a comment or send me a note, and I’ll be sure and get it in. It’s going to be a fun one!

StrongerTea782 Demolishes Funk Groove in F

Check. This. Out.

From now on, you’ll be known as MISTER StrongerTea around here. Keep it up!

You ROCKED that! Really nice work! Of course, once I update the music with the new parts, you’ll have to learn the bridge! :)

Man, this is the coolest job ever.

By the way, other folks, if you’ve got a recording of one of my tunes, I would absolutely love to see it. Send me a note, or a tweet, or whatever. Who knows — you may even make the site! :)

Funk Groove 4: Parts 4 & 5 now available

I’m getting faster!

This weekend I was able to get parts four and five finished and uploaded for Piano Funk Groove #4 in Bb. Scroll down the page for the new sections.

In part four, we go through the Bridge section in Eb, through the little chromatic bass-line leading back to the main melody. Then, in part five, a little break! We’ll review the much simpler “chords” section which connects the last main melody back to the intro groove.

That bridge is pretty fun to play – it’s definitely one of the more straightforward “funk” parts of this tune. Give it a try!

I’ve only got parts six and seven left — which are both dedicated to different sections of the breakdown. I actually did a bit of the work for them over the weekend as well, so I’m expecting to wrap them up before this coming weekend.

Thanks for your patience, while I work out the kinks in my production process on this series!
